Job Description

Responsibilities include actively participating in the entire lifecycle of assigned projects, from requirement analysis to design, implementation, and testing, while leading and implementing PLC controls projects for integrated systems and subsystems in warehouse distribution centers and material handling machine control systems, including conveyor, merge, and sorter subsystems. The role involves project planning, reporting, and management, overseeing financial, technical, and timeline aspects to ensure success, while managing multiple high-risk projects, ensuring documentation consistency, and achieving 100% compliance with phase gate reviews and monthly project reviews. Additional duties include providing support across Concepting & Estimating, Controls Engineering, Project Management, Systems Engineering, Installation, Product Development, and Sales & Marketing, while managing program requirements, maintaining technical communications with customers, and driving execution improvements. The position requires developing and maintaining machine control interface standards, reviewing and optimizing PLC code, Ethernet IP network configurations, system architecture, operation descriptions, functional specifications, and interfacing documents. Regular responsibilities include attending team meetings, tracking scheduled tasks, reporting project progress, managing project budgets averaging $5M, managing customer portfolios averaging $10M, and performing emulations of major designs. Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field and six years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with four years of experience. Experience must include expertise in material handling equipment such as high-speed merging, sorting, accumulation conveyors, VFDs, barcode scanners, and HMIs; strong PLC configuration and change management; advanced skills in Rockwell Studio software, HMI/SCADA applications, emulation, and simulation; and experience leading multiple end-to-end projects or programs with strong communication skills. Telecommuting is permitted, and approximately 50% domestic/international travel is required. Additional details: location Mason, OH, 40 hours/week, employee referral fee $1500, and candidates must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. EOE.
