Role Description
We are looking for local candidates to the Local Delaware area , preferred location not more than 45 minutes away. We will not be offering any relocation assistance, and the candidate must be able to legally work in the US. We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Research Scientist to join our team in Newark, DE. This is a Full-Time, onsite Laboratory role ( Monday -Friday) with flexible scheduling of start and end times. This position requires daily onsite presence and does not offer remote or hybrid work options. Applicants must be able to work onsite every day. Education & Experience
Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry or related fields AND 1+ years of pharmaceutical or related experience in the development of sustained release drug delivery systems OR M.asters degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry or related fields AND 5+ years of pharmaceutical or related experience in the development of sustained release drug delivery systems.
Responsibilities
Formulation development of sustained release dosage forms including solutions, suspensions, micro- or nano particles, and implantable products. Preparation and characterization of test articles in support of in-house and collaborative programs. Planning and performing laboratory experiments to develop and optimize formulations and manufacturing processes. Generation and testing of formulations in support of biological evaluation ( in vitro and in vivo ) of prototype and optimized formulations. Other responsibilities include scientific documentation of lab experiments, data analysis, interpretation and technical report writing. Up to date scientific knowledge in the drug delivery and development fields.
Qualifications
Solid scientific and technical background with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficient in formulation development and in analytical chemistry, including the use of such tools as HPLC, dissolution apparatus and apparatus relevant to making sustained release dosage forms. Broad knowledge about the FDA regulatory requirements for drug product development and capable of seeking advice and guidance internally and externally as needed. Highly motivated, willing to learn, and comfortable with responsibility. Flexible, hard-working, is capable of managing multiple complex projects at any given time, and can work under pressure to achieve development timelines. Excellent planning, time management, decision-making, presentation, and organization skills. Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with relevant computer software, including Microsoft Office, is essential. Familiarity with controlled release dosage forms, solution kinetics and pharmacokinetics is a plus.
