Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian/Maintenance Worker to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of our facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks, maintaining equipment, and supporting the upkeep of our environment to promote a healthy and welcoming space for staff and visitors alike. Responsibilities
Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces, using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Operate and maintain cleaning tools such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and other janitorial equipment to ensure optimal performance. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination. Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards; perform minor repairs or coordinate with specialized technicians as necessary. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment efficiently. Support sanitation efforts by disinfecting surfaces, waste removal, and ensuring compliance with health standards. Support general facilities maintenance including painting, minor repairs, and upkeep tasks to maintain a clean and functional environment.
Qualifications
Previous custodial or janitorial experience is highly preferred; familiarity with commercial cleaning standards is a plus. Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment operation (including floor buffers), and sanitation best practices. Ability to handle chemical agents safely following safety protocol adherence. Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Customer service mindset with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Basic understanding of facilities maintenance tasks such as painting or minor repairs is desirable.
