6-Month Travel Assignment (Iraq) | US Citizens | Basic Security Clearance
Position Summary
We are seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer / Hybrid Cluster Administrator to support and operate Kubernetes environments with mixed Linux and Windows nodes. This role requires strong hands-on troubleshooting, hybrid server administration, and GitOps-based cluster management. Candidate must be willing to travel to Iraq for a 6-month assignment.
Key Responsibilities
Run and maintain ensemble scripts for automation and orchestration
Set up and manage SSH connections on Windows and Linux machines
Install, configure, and operate Kubernetes clusters with mixed Linux and Windows nodes
Perform server administration in hybrid environments (patching, monitoring, troubleshooting)
Manage GitOps workflows using Flux for declarative cluster configuration
Use GitLab for CI/CD pipelines, repository management, and infrastructure-as-code
Required Skills & Experience
Strong Kubernetes experience (installation, multi-OS clusters, troubleshooting)
Linux + Windows server administration
SSH configuration and usage across platforms
GitLab (repositories, CI/CD, runners, merge requests)
Flux (GitOps, kustomize/helm integration, bootstrapping)
Scripting/automation: Bash, PowerShell, Python
Experience supporting heterogeneous container environments
Nice to Have
Nutanix OS / AHV experience
Hybrid cloud / on-prem Windows container setups

Logistics & Compensation
Start: February
Pay Range: $85,000 – $120,000 (depending on experience and engagement type)
Engagement Type: Contract preferred (W2 option available)
Travel: Arranged and paid
Housing: Arranged and paid
