Impact of the Role
- Lead initiatives to drive growth through customer collaboration, new applications, and commercialization of optical products.
- Advance products independently and with teams, ensuring alignment with customer needs and industry standards.
- Apply and enhance knowledge of technical, product, market, and competitive information to support product development.
- Collaborate with internal and external networks to drive innovation.
- Provide technical support to customers and create commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Expand application space for existing EBO products.
- Develop understanding of application spaces.
- Identify product modifications or technical changes to enable new applications.
- Initiate development of new applications.
- Support products and applications to customers, expanding opportunities and reducing risks.
- Communicate and coordinate with global teams and internal stakeholders.
Skills and Expertise
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Science.
- 5 years of application development experience (private, public, government, or military).
- 1 year of hands-on lab work (mechanical or analytical testing).
Desired:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with strong technical and commercial skills.
- 7 years of experience in optical application development or optical design.
- Knowledge of lab equipment including optical fiber testing and microscopes.
- Leadership and cross-functional communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and innovate.
Location & Work Authorization
- Location: Austin, TX (On-site)
- Travel: Up to 10% domestic/international
- Relocation: May be authorized
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $141,150 – $172,517 (base + variable incentive pay, US applicants)
